Here you can view the fixed income strategy road show that WaMu delivered in 3Q 2006, shortly after it became the first covered bond issuer in the U.S.   In this 36 page presentation the covered bonds section is minimal, but it does show how the covered bond structure was expected to fit into its funding strategy at the time.
