'Bond Basics: Covered Bonds'

In about four pages, global bond firm PIMCO describes in clear language what makes a bond “covered” and why that can be attractive, along with a quick history of covered bonds.  There are also issuance statistics regarding the various countries in Europe; these are outdated (1996) and ignore the recent growth of covered bonds in other regions.
